Louise Boruque is an artist based in Chicago whose practice uses personal artifacts and their own body and bodily fluids to investigate sex(-uality) & gender while dissecting their own experience as a queer American.

Boruque graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2020 with a BA in marketing while assisting various artists in Chicago and working as a commercial model. In 2019, they studied fine are at L’ESÄ in Tourcoing, France where a humanities forward approach and emphasized the questioning of classifications and categories.

Career experience in marketing and as a product photographer resulted in their stylistic and thematic approach to USED. In contrast, their still life and self portraiture expression submits to candid environmental light.
